Perhaps you’ve been diagnosed with something specific or you may just feel totally stuck. Either way I offer you my help, help to get you through the current crisis and help to change your life long-term.
I like to have a chat with people before we start. That gives us a chance just to meet up and discuss things beforehand.
CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) helps to change the way we think and what we do or don’t do. ACT is becoming the most popular form of CBT because it is so effective for a wide range of conditions, from anxiety and ADHD to depression and chronic pain. It helps to get us back on track- and sets out to change things long-term which traditional CBT does not always achieve. and that makes us feel better. Like CBT, however, ACT addresses our thinking and changing our behaviour for the better. All of us worry about things and most of us ‘ruminate’ (churn things over about the past) to some extent. Problems arise when we start to worry or ruminate for most of the day. Sometimes we end up worrying about worrying. Too much stress is very often the culprit. ACT helps to change that.
Like all therapists, I tailor my approach to best support the people I work with. There is no one-size-fits-all. The important thing is for me to offer you a safe and confidential environment, with a friendly ear that you feel you can trust.
I usually do at least some breath work with people if they want it. Our breathing changes with anxiety and can change over time. We can end up in a viscous circle where stress and anxiety lead to us breathing in such a way that actually makes the anxiety worse. I help people with that. It can make all the difference.
I always offer hypnotherapy to my clients, either in session or in a program of recordings I have made for relaxation during the day, and to help them fall asleep at bedtime.
Why not act yourself, act now and book a free chat. You have nothing to lose and lots to gain – it will almost certainly change your life.
